Air Fryer Croutons

Try Our EASY Air Fryer Croutons

In the realm of bread, sourdough is king. What makes sourdough different is it’s leavened (aka raised) by fermenting flour and water rather than using yeast. Fermentation releases the B vitamins in the bread and boosts its gut-friendly prebiotic and probiotic properties — all of which aid digestion. Most sourdough bread is made with whole grains, which have more fiber and protein. Given its numerous benefits and its tangy flavor, sourdough should never go to waste. Its airy structure makes particularly good croutons. These healthy air fryer croutons add crunch and flavor to fresh green salads, Caesar salads, and creamy soups. As a little extra something to enjoy all week, they’re worth making!

Say hello to the simple ingredient list for our air fryer croutons:

  • 4 slices sourdough bread, de-crusted and cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 tablespoon paprika

  • 1 1⁄2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning

The method is very simple. All you have to do is…

  • Heat the air fryer to 400 degrees.

  • In a large bowl, toss the croutons with the spices and oil. Mix well.

  • Line the air fryer tray with parchment paper and spread the bread in an even layer.

  • Fry for 4 minutes, then turn to crisp the other side and fry for another 4-5 minutes. Make sure they don’t burn!
