Your Gut is Trying to Tell You Something

Are you planning your schedule around your bathroom, turning down dinners out, and sitting at your desk wondering why your stomach hurts again?

Maybe your GI doctor ran a scope and said everything looks fine. They told you it’s “just stress” or “IBS” and handed a pamphlet. Or maybe you’re masking symptoms with medication that doesn’t fix anything.

If you’re exhausted from just surviving your digestion, you’re not imagining it.

Here’s what most conventional care misses: your gut doesn’t operate in isolation. The bacteria in your microbiome influence your hormones, immune system, mood, weight, skin, and even how clearly you think. When something’s off in the gut, it tends to show up everywhere.

Functional Nutrition, Not Generic Advice

Our board-certified Registered Dietitians take a different approach: we investigate what’s driving your symptoms using functional medicine principles, then build a plan designed specifically for your body, not a template.

More Than a Meal Plan. Here’s What’s Included:

Results Beyond Symptom Relief

How We Get to the Bottom of Your Gut Problems

We start with a health assessment and customize your plan based on your labs, symptoms, lifestyle, and goals. Most of our gut health clients in Mooresville, across the Lake Norman area, and throughout Charlotte work with us across the following:

Comprehensive Lab Testing That Goes Beyond the Basics

At your first appointment, we typically recommend testing to understand what’s actually happening in your gut. These tests tell us not just what’s wrong, but why — so we treat the cause rather than just quieting the symptoms. Testing may include:

Symptom Mapping (All of Them)

Labs are only part of the picture. Your symptoms tell us the rest. We’ll do a thorough review of how your gut dysfunction is showing up across your whole body, including:

Personalized Nutrition Built Around Your Gut

Once we have your labs and your full story, we build targeted nutrition strategies that work for your gut and your actual life. You’ll get a personalized plan and can add our custom meal app to your routine, with grocery lists, recipes, and meal ideas built for your specific protocol. Depending on what we find, your plan might focus on:

Lifestyle Strategies That Support a Healthy Gut

Your gut responds to more than just what you eat. We coach you through the daily habits that make a real difference:

Targeted Supplement Protocols (Not the Random Probiotic at Costco)

If supplements are right for you, we recommend specific ones based on your labs and symptoms — not based on a TikTok trend or whatever’s on the end cap at the store. All supplements are third-party tested, professional grade, and recommended at the dose your body actually needs through our FullScript dispensary. Depending on your profile, that might include:

Follow-Up Monitoring and Ongoing Support

Gut healing isn’t a one-and-done process. We check in at two to three weeks to see how your plan is landing and make real-time adjustments. We’ll also repeat labs at three to six months to confirm the strategy is working and decide what’s next. Gut repair takes time, and we stay in it with you.

TWO WAYS TO GET STARTED

Insurance-Covered Dietitian Sessions

Your health insurance may cover up to 100% of your one-on-one dietitian sessions at our Mooresville office or via telehealth. A great option for personalized gut health support, nutrition counseling, supplement guidance, and accountability. We’ll gladly verify your benefits.

Premium Gut Health Programs

Our cash-pay programs go deeper with advanced functional lab testing, more comprehensive root-cause analysis, and added wellness support. These premium programs can be paired with insurance-covered dietitian sessions and basic lab tests at your doctor’s office so you get the best of both options.

GUT HEALTH FAQs

Our most frequently asked questions

We work with a wide range of GI conditions and concerns, including IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth), inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis), acid reflux and GERD, leaky gut (intestinal permeability), food sensitivities, dysbiosis, and gut symptoms related to mold or mycotoxin exposure. We also work with clients who have unexplained digestive symptoms that haven’t been solved by conventional care.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a diagnosis based on symptoms like bloating, cramping, and altered bowel habits, without a clear structural cause. Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) is a specific condition where bacteria overpopulate the small intestine, and it can cause many of the same symptoms. They can exist independently or together. We test for SIBO with a breath test so we’re not guessing, and we use targeted strategies depending on what the test shows.

It depends. The right probiotic can be transformative. The wrong one can actually make things worse, particularly if you have SIBO or certain types of dysbiosis. We recommend specific strains and formulas based on your lab results, not a generic recommendation. This is one area where “just try one” can backfire.

For many gut conditions, nutrition and lifestyle changes are among the most evidence-backed interventions available. They don’t replace medical care when it’s needed, but they often address the root cause in a way that medication alone doesn’t. We coordinate with your physician or gastroenterologist so you’re getting comprehensive care, not just one side of it.

Often, yes. Many major insurance plans cover up to 100% of one-on-one dietitian sessions, whether in our Mooresville office or via telehealth. We verify your specific benefits before your first appointment, so there are no surprises. Basic labs can be completed at your primary physician’s office and billed to insurance.

We also offer premium cash-pay services included advanced functional lab testing and customized meal plans. These services are not covered by insurance. We are happy to answer any questions about costs during a free 15-minute consultation call.

We are in-network with BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS), Anthem, Aetna, and United Healthcare. We also accept Veterans Administration benefits with a referral from the VA.

We don’t offer online booking for health assessments or dietitian appointments. Instead, we begin with a free 15-minute consultation call to learn about your needs and see how we can best support you. After that, we’ll help you schedule your first appointment.

Your first one-on-one session with a dietitian is a 60-90 minute health assessment. Follow-up appointments are 30-60 minutes.

Before your session, we review your medical history, current labs, symptoms, and intake forms thoroughly. During the appointment, we go through everything in depth and ask targeted questions to understand what your gut actually needs. You’ll leave with personalized recommendations to start addressing your symptoms and rebuilding from the inside out.

Yes, you can visit us in-person at our office. We are located at 500 S. Main Street Suite 113 Mooresville, NC 28115.

Yes, we are licensed for telemedicine in North Carolina, Virginia, Colorado, California, Florida, Michigan, and New Hampshire. We can provide virtual sessions if you live in one of those states.

Traditional gut health programs focus on eliminating foods and adding random probiotics. We offer integrative nutrition and advanced functional medicine procotols — focusing on root causes and sustainable changes customized to your unique health history, symptoms, and lifestyle — so the healing lasts long-term.

It depends on how long the dysfunction has been building and what’s driving it. Most clients notice changes in bloating, energy, and overall comfort within four to six weeks. Deeper healing, like rebuilding the microbiome or repairing gut lining integrity, takes three to six months or longer. We stay with you through the process, adjusting as your labs and symptoms evolve.
